It was anything but friesian at the event last year as the gorgeous Autumnal sunshine spurred on the runners. Iain was beefing up the Bournemouth Marathon Festival and said “It’s a fast course, even if you are dressed as a cow!” after receiving confirmation of his World Record – 40 mins and 49s.
The steaks were high as the event was part of 40 sporting challenges he aimed to complete in celebration of his 40th year in 2015.
“If you’re doing events all the time then you need to keep engaging with people to maintain their interest. The reaction it has provoked really motivates me to keep going.” said Iain.
The Supersonic 10K is one of six events taking place across the 1-2 October as part of the Bournemouth Marathon Festival weekend, consisting of Saturday’s 1.5K and 2K junior races, the 10K and spectacular Supernova 5K event before Sunday’s half marathon and marathon.
All six races take place on the fast, PB-potential courses and feature the unique chance to run to the end of Bournemouth’s historic pier and back.
Congratulations to Iain, we did say it was an udderly fast course – we’re sure he’ll be milking this achievement for a very long time…
Last year 11,000 runners enjoyed a glorious two days with an estimated £0.5m raised for charity. The 2016 event takes place on 1st/2nd October 2016. To guarantee your place, visitwww.run-bmf.com.
