BMF Supernova 5K Route

Take a beautiful and iconic venue such as the Bournemouth Pier, wait until dusk, get the family together (and we mean everyone – grandparents, uncles, aunties, parents, kids, friends!), dig out the fluorescent clothing and grab everything and anything that glows or flashes. Then set off on a Supernova 5K!

The Supernova 5K event is the perfect way to get involved in the Bournemouth Marathon Festival with your family and friends, whilst taking in the atmosphere and fun. Starting on Bournemouth Prom and finishing near the Bournemouth Marathon Festival Hub in the Lower Gardens, this beautiful coastal route allows runners the rare opportunity to run along the iconic Bournemouth Pier, which is lit up at dusk to create a beautiful spectacle for participants and spectators alike!

Start as you mean to go on by taking in all the splendour of Bournemouth’s award winning beaches at dusk, running past some of the two hundred and fifty beach huts along the seafront!
At the 4KM mark you can see the famous Russell-Cotes Art Gallery & Museum. Situated on Bournemouth’s stunning cliff-top, over looking the sea, this exotic seaside villa has been sealed in time creating a unique atmosphere in a most dramatic setting.
As you hit the iconic Bournemouth Pier, you know you’re on the home stretch. The Pier was first constructed in 1856. The Pier has undergone numerous transformations over the years, with the addition of the Bournemouth Pier Theatre in 1959. The pier will be fantastically lit up for Supernova 5K runners!
The most beautiful sight for any runner – the finish line! Lower Gardens was landscaped in 1871 after a competition was held by Bournemouth Council to design the new gardens, most of the Victorian splendour still remains today.
