Public transport for Sunday events

The start of the Bournemouth Marathon, and Half Marathon is on King’s Park Drive (BH7 6LR). The race will finish at Bournemouth Pier Approach in the town centre. Limited parking will be available at King’s Park, other larger car parks are available which are serviced by the event shuttle bus. Please note you will need to pay parking fares and the King’s Park car park requires card payment via a mobile phone. If you park at King’s Park the best options for getting back to the start after the race are the event shuttle bus or public bus.

On foot

The races start on Kings Park Drive. Your race instructions will give you a map of the area.

By bus

Local bus services operate close to the start and finish areas. The Finish area is next to Bournemouth Lower Gardens near Gervis Place, which is served by More buses services. Bournemouth Square is also nearby and this is served by Yellow buses.  Please follow the links to the bus websites for more information.

By train

The nearest train station to the start is Pokesdown Station, the nearest station to the finish is Bournemouth Station. Pokesdown Station is approx 15 min walk to the start & 1 hr walk from the finish. Bournemouth Station is an approx 30 min walk to the start and 15 min walk to the finish. Bournemouth Station is serviced by South West Trains and CrossCountry.

There will be event shuttle buses operating between the finish area and Kings Park. These services are the fastest way to travel and we strongly suggest you opt to travel this way. Tickets for these services can be bought from the online shop. Please note that there may be a parking fee payable at the car park – this is not covered by your bus ticket.

PLEASE NOTE: Trains do not run early enough to get to the Half Marathon start.
